Job Role

ProWeb empowers entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses with online solutions that help them to succeed online in Zambia. Our mission is to give our customers the tools, insights and expertise to transform their ideas and personal initiative into success. We are thus seeking a full-time marketing executive at our HQ in Lusaka. You will have the opportunity to partner with the engineering & sales teams to launch our new products, drive usage and build growth. You must be innovative, adaptable and target-oriented with an excellent knowledge of marketing, advertising and communicating digital product offerings. We require a person with the ability to understand current and new product service lines in our company. We also require that you have the ability to understand the target market and relate their needs to the solutions we offer. The successful candidate must be able to work independently, devise marketing strategies, make periodic marketing reports & presentations and perform other tasks as specified.

Responsibilities and Duties

  1. Market Research and Analysis: Conduct thorough market research and analysis to evaluate the target market and audience, industry trends, measure brand awareness, and assess the competition.

  2. Conceive and Develop Marketing Strategies & Ideas: Create and implement effective marketing strategies and marketing ideas that align with the goals and objectives of our software development company.

  3. Budget Management: Collaborate with senior management in the preparation and oversight of marketing budgets, monitoring expenses and ensuring efficient allocation of resources.

  4. Organise and Oversee Advertising/Communication Campaigns: Coordinate and manage marketing, advertising and communication campaigns across online and offline channels, including product website, email, social media, blogs, promotional events, exhibitions, radio, TV and more.

  5. Vendor & Partner Management: Maintain relationships with media vendors/outlets, broadcasters, publishers, influencers and other partners to ensure collaboration in promotional activities.

  6. Content Creation: Write engaging and persuasive copy as well as manage the production of multimedia content for various marketing materials and channels.

  7. Collaboration: Collaborate with sales and engineering teams to ensure marketing campaigns are executed effectively and generate appropriate leads for the sales team.

  8. Track Performance: Continuously monitor the progress and performance of marketing campaigns, use relevant metrics and analytics tools to refine marketing strategies and stay ahead of market dynamics.

  9. Reporting: Compile and present monthly, quarterly and annual reports on the effectiveness of marketing and advertising campaigns.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Sales, Business Development, Communication or a related field with a minimum of 4 years of proven working experience in Marketing.
  • Professional courses, certificates, and diplomas in web development, software engineering or a related field are an added advantage.
  • Have the ability to understand the company’s technological product/service offerings and apply this knowledge to marketing strategies. 
  • Knowledge of marketing to and generating leads from small businesses. 
  • Knowledge of digital marketing concepts for SEO, SEM and SMM. 
  • Knowledge of the Bull's-Eye Marketing strategy is an added advantage.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Capable of inspiring and motivating target market to become leads. 
  • Have the ability to engage professionally with the team and co-workers. 
  • An advanced level of English language with good listening & presentation skills.

  • Familiarity with search, social and other digital marketing tools and platforms. 
  • Familiarity with CRM tools like HubSpot is a plus. 
  • Proficiency in AdobeSuite or similar is an added advantage.
  • Candidate's CVs should clearly demonstrate relevant working experience in marketing through appropriate descriptions of similar positions previously held and the duties involved. It must also provide traceable references. Prior experience in a technology company is a plus. 
  • Able to start work immediately.
